Internet and Computer Services:

The Library provides Internet access free of charge to all patrons.  There are six Internet stations for use by the public.  Each is equipped with word processing capability. Software is installed on each station limiting the amount of time spent on library computers to one hour per day.  This is to assure that all patrons have equal access to the computers.

The library also has Wireless Internet access.  This allows patrons to bring in their laptop computers and access the Internet.  No waiting for a computer, sit anywhere, no time limits!  Click here for connection information.

Materials/Circulation:

The Cedar Springs Public Library circulates a wide variety of materials, from books and movies to popular music CDs! Read below for additional information regarding our circulation policies.

Lending Items:

These items may be checked out for three weeks:

• Books
• Music CDs and cassettes
• Books-on-tape and Books-on-CD
• Express Books (bestsellers)
• Non-Fiction Videos (VHS and DVD)

These items may be checked out for one week:

• Magazines
• Feature Films (VHS and DVD)

Renewals:

Most items can be renewed once if no one else is waiting for them.

• Renew in person at the library.
• Renew by phone at (616) 696-1910.
• Renew online.

Overdue Fines:

• Fines for most items are 15 cents per day up to a maximum of $4.95
• Fines for motion pictures (VHS and DVD) are $1.00 per day up to a maximum of $10.00.
• View your patron record to check for overdue fines.

Other Fees:

• Returned check fee: $24.50
• Replacement library cards: $2.00
• Collection services fee for items not returned: $8.95

Place a Hold:

Holds may be placed on most library materials through the online catalog. If the item you want is not available at a Lakeland Library Cooperative library, Cedar Springs Public Library cardholders can request that staff search further for it. Requests are sent through the "Superloan" service which checks other libraries in Michigan and the nation to locate a copy of the item available for loan. There is a $5.00 search fee for this service.

Let us contact you by E-Mail Notification when your holds are ready or you have an overdue item.

Returns:

Library materials may be returned at any library in the Lakeland Library Cooperative. The delivery service will see that the item is returned to the home library.
